The Park at Kendall has spacious walk-in closets that are expansive enough to keep your belongings neat and organized. If you haven’t spent time organizing your closet at our Miami apartments, here are some tips to help get you started.
#1 Organization Toolkit
Before you begin the organization process, you will need to gather a few supplies to make it a more seamless process. You will need trash bags to transport any items you wish to donate. Take note of the hanging space in your closet and measure it with a tape measure. Grab a basket to use as a “catch-all.” This is where you will put any random, small items that you find. If you happen to have one, use a full-length mirror to help decide which clothes you want to keep or donate.
#2 Empty & Clean the Closet
Completely empty your closet so that you have a blank canvas to work with. In addition to your clothes, take out any hangers, baskets, and bins. Once you’ve taken everything out of the closet, give it a deep clean. Vacuum the floor, dust the shelving and hanging rods, and wipe the baseboards with an all-purpose cleaner.
#3 Declutter
Now it’s time to go through all your belongings that were in your closet. Organize the belongings into three piles: keep, donate, and trash. Put the donate and trash piles in respective trash bags. When you’re deciding to keep something, ask yourself if you love it, if you wear it, and if it projects the image you want to portray.
#4 Closet Storage
When you have your final keep pile, make sure you put it back into your closet in an organized way. Purchase closet organizers to keep similar belongings together and save space. This will ultimately save you time and stress as well, since you should be able to find exactly what you need with relative ease.
